The purpose of this blog is to share my views on the present and future of Martin County and the City of Stuart. I have been a full time resident for almost a decade, and my wife and I have had a home in Stuart for more than 15 years. We choose to live here because we love it.

That does not mean that I don’t see challenges. Every time I look out my window and see the Saint Lucie River, I see problems.  At times, I think there are problems with the way the county and city are governed. I think there are problems with the way the average citizen and tax payer is treated by the bureaucracy.  Sometimes, I think that the chosen few are rewarded to the detriment of the majority.

I also think that there are some good elected officials out there who really are concerned about us. We have more than a few government employees that also do a great job for us. There is much to love in this place. From our natural beauty to the weather to the people, Martin County has an abundance of resources and talent. I just want to see it made better.

Tell me what you think about the county and city. You don’t need to agree with me. However, I do have some posting parameters. Your posts need to be free of invective and personal insults. As you have heard a thousand times, we can disagree without being disagreeable. There can be no foul language in any writing. Nor is this blog intended to discuss social issues. Finally, I am the final arbiter on what is posted.
